When we talk about user experience, we are referring to the way people interact and engage with something. Typically the term 'user experience' is associated with digital UX/UI design, however the term can be applied to all forms of design, including design for print.
User Experience in Print Design:
- Readability - pay attention to font choices, colour and contrast of backgrounds and type, as well as general typography concerns like tracking, kerning and leading.
- Priority of information and how someone is likely to proceed through it - understanding how to establish a visual hierarchy and lead the user through the content in the appropriate order.
- Tangibility - how will people handle the product/design/publication directly?
- Functionality - but must also draw attention and prompt the user to buy the product.
- Must be clear, consistent, concise and well-crafted.

How User Experience Will Be Present in My Publication:
- The idea of having a book case adds an extra element of experience to the book - taking it out of the case/the 'unboxing' is an experience in itself, makes it seem special.
- The publication will not be a traditional guidebook in the sense that it will be more of an informational book created more as a keepsake/souvenir item, which will be conveyed through this book case idea and the unboxing experience associated with it.
