OUGD503 - Pitch A Papergang - Rationale

Based on research into how the brand markets itself, the final product designs aim to communicate this in taking on an approach which can be seen to resonate with the brand. In doing so, the designs took on a more illustrated and quirky aesthetic in order to represent this and the audience which Ohh Deer is typically marketed towards.

Although not specific to the brief requirements, the final designs took on a seasonal themed approach. Since the box would be used for October’s edition, the designs aimed to visualise this season in terms of its holidays, such as Halloween. The use of imagery to visualise this does not communicate the typically ‘spooky’ themes of Halloween, but instead presents objects related to this in a non-serious way to continue resonating with the brand’s audience as people who do not take themselves too seriously.
