The design of them took an approach similar to that of the backgrounds in that they made use of texture rather than block colours. This was to produce a consistency between the illustrative style of each so that they do not seem out of place within the scenes. Clothing was inspired by 1960's vintage clothing and the characters used drop shadows in order to make them stand out slightly from each scene.

OUGD503 - Studio Brief 02 - Character Designs
Whilst I took on the responsibility of background designs and typesetting the book, my collaborative partner took on the responsibility of character designs and poses to be placed within each scene. The poses used reference images we'd taken from our primary trip to the moors in order to more accurately replicate the correct positions.
