For the general line-up poster, it was decided to keep the two bubble variant in order to keep a consistent aesthetic and layout with the other promotional posters featuring speakers, as well as with the social media design elements, with the two bubbles representing more of a conversation between the creative professionals and the students. As another element of consistency the dates the event is running were placed in the top right-hand bubble, and the event logotype in the bottom left-hand logo at a larger size to match the layout used in the speaker posters. Each speaker's name were aligned with the halftoned background and separated using a dot in continuing to represent the halftoned aesthetic.
This poster utilised the colour cyan throughout the whole design, since it was decided by the group leaders that this was the strongest colour and should be used as the main colour for all other promotional material, such as vinyl stickers of the logo, name badges, and the schedule.
Like the speaker line-up poster, it was decided to utilise one colour throughout these individual speaker posters, alternating between cyan and magenta for each day, since copies of these would be traditionally screen-printed and handed to the speakers themselves as a personalised thank you gift for coming and speaking at the event, and thus the one-colour approach would make the screen-printing process much easier and more time-efficient in that we would not be having to expose multiple screens for one design.
The photographic imagery used in these were manipulated to the same halftone effect as the line-up poster background, again, to create an element of consistency between all the promotional material, whilst the halftone also means that this allows the screen-printing process to pick up more detail in the imagery.
In addition from previous developments, part of the type layout at the bottom of the posters featured the title 'day one', 'two', etc, however it was realised that this is already present in the speech bubbles over the halftoned imagery, therefore this smaller element of text was changed to the day of the week the speaker is attending the event.
Upon finding out that one of the speakers had been cancelled, Wednesday became a 'free day'. In replacement, it was decided by event organisers/tutors that this should be more of a creative social day for both current and past students/alumni to get to know each other. For this reason, cyan and magenta were continued to be alternated including this day, replacing a picture of the original speaker with one which represented the social event using the same halftoned effect as the rest of the posters to continue the aesthetic without an odd gap in the week.
Currently we are just waiting to here back from Tom Finn and Kristoffer Solling of Regular Practice studio, who will be speaking on Friday 22nd along with Bafic, with a photographic image of them which can also be utilised on their personalised poster for the event.
General posters for the event will be digitally printed, whilst copies of the individual speaker posters will be traditionally screen-printed, both in the size of A3.
