This initial publication on the use of colour within Graphic Design was produced before the pagination workshop, therefore not much consideration had been taken into it's layout and format. As a result, this meant that each page had to be produced individually to ensure that they were bound in the correct order. The layout of each page was not consistent throughout the publication, therefore as development a grid system would be developed in order to use consistently through the booklet, such as the van der graff canon, which is suitable for book design.
The use of my own colour swatches taken from a photograph of Leeds were also used within the publication as backgrounds to some of the pages, which linked to the overall theme of colour. However, these did not work particularly well with certain elements of the publication and did not do much to help with the communication of research within. Based on this research, it was found that CMYK is the best mode for printing colour and this will be considered in the development of this publication to ensure that the colours are reproduced as accurately as possible since the printing method of this initial publication did not do so well.
In terms of binding techniques, this publication used a saddle stitch method. This method involves the use of thread or staples passed through the fold of a magazine or booklet, and is suitable for smaller publications. This therefore made the method appropriate for use within this booklet, which had been scaled at an A5 size and so this will be continued within it's development.
