OUGD406 - Studio Brief 02 - Initial Idea Two

Based on initial typographic exploration into Dada and Bauhaus styles, an alternative initial idea was to produce a purely typographic design. This continued the use of similar processes to DR. ME studio in that the type was collaged from various pieces of design created throughout these two movements.
The design communicates the model of planes produced by Robert Blackburn for the purpose of test flights and passenger services. These were the Blackburn BE2c and the Kangeroo R.T.1 aircrafts.

Because of how minimal these designs were, it was suggested through peer criticism and feedback that the design needed something to make it more engaging. Therefore, this idea was developed so that the design would include fold lines so that it could be folded into a paper plane, linking it further to the event and creating a print which the audience can engage with in a fun way that celebrates the motion of flight. For this idea, the design would have to take into consideration how it will be folded so that elements are not cut away when it is folded.
