OUGD406 - Studio Brief 03 - Receipt Developments

This brief involved everyone in our group taking on a different role in terms of design development. The role which I focused on was flyers and posters, which would be used as publicity materials to promote the exhibition.

Originally the layout for these posters were going to be representational of the screen printing process, featuring an image within the middle, representational of the printed design, which would be accompanied by a larger body of text at the top and a slightly smaller body of information at the bottom which would represent the layers of ink found on the screen. Although an appropriate link to the themes of the exhibition, this did not prove to be consistent with our new identity. Therefore, the flyers and posters were modified and developed to fit with this new aesthetic.

This involved the development of a new receipt, which featured the appropriate information for the exhibition as well as the pink strip of colour through the middle to represent the red line of ink you sometimes get when at the end of a till roll. This helped to give the receipts a small element of colour to make it more engaging, whilst also ensuring consistency with other publicity materials and elements of the exhibition's visual identity.
