OUGD406 - Studio Brief 03 - STAMPED Developments

Based on feedback, it was decided that the ideas for ‘GRADE 2’ were not consistent throughout and the name did not strongly link to many of our ideas. It was also suggested that this name had links too obvious to the building and should consider changing to link more with the idea of traditional print, which led to the identity for ‘STAMPED’.

Another piece of feedback we gained from our first initial idea was that the colour scheme was a loose link to the college and could be misinterpreted by the public as an association with boys and girls in the use of pink and blue. Our colour scheme was therefore modified for this new identity, taking inspiration from the Leeds flag which uses colours such as red, blue, yellow and gold. As a result, the colour scheme for ‘STAMPED’ used a dark blue and yellow to form these new associations with Leeds as a city as well as fitting with one of the initial requirements for this brief stating the identity should be celebratory in tone.
