OUGD406 - Studio Brief 03 - Amir Noor

Amir Noor is an artist from Lancashire, England, who likes to take something mundane, such as a receipt and turn it into something of importance. His work is something we collectively looked at during the initial research process, which can be used to inform the identity for our exhibition. The idea of looking at something so disposable like a receipt showed apparent links to found objects within public spaces in Leeds. It also proved to be a form a print which the general public would be familiar with and the idea of something being ‘free’ links to the free access of some public spaces, for instance this exhibition.

An exhibition could potentially be seen a temporary event, linking it to this idea of disposability since it is only on for a limited amount of time before it is taken down or moved. These ideas would be transferred into our exhibition identity and focused on emulating this visual literacy of receipts in terms of layout, typography and aesthetics.
